The Causes Blog

camfedLast week, Camfed, the Campaign for Female Education, launched an extremely exciting cause sponsorship with 2 anonymous donors.  Usually, we work with corporate or foundation partners to implement a matching campaign, but in this case, two of Camfed’s most ardent supporters have offered to give a $100,000 donation to the cause if 200,000 new members join within 90 days. That $100,000 will go towards providing 4,000 vulnerable children with the uniforms and school supplies they need in order to stay in school in rural Africa. To encourage participation, Camfed is also offering the person who recruits the most people to the cause a free trip to Africa to see Camfed’s work on the ground! The campaign is going extremely well already—the cause doubled its membership in the last 12 days and now, ten days into the campaign, it is adding over 5,000 new members per day. Camed’s Ryan Quiel said, “It took Camfed 13 years to grow our list to 10,000 known supporters.  With this campaign, our cause just gained 10,000 new known supporters in 2 days!”  Check out their cause, Educate Girls in Africa | Win a Trip to Africa by Inviting Your Friends!
