Causes on Facebook | Feeding America

For one day, from midnight (eastern daylight time) June 18th to midnight June 19th, 2009, The Kellogg Company is working with Causes to match 15% of all donations made to all causes on Facebook with a contribution to Feeding America.  If you’ve been holding back on making a donation through Causes, today is the day!  Donate to any cause and the Kellogg Company will match an additional 15% of the donation amount to help feed Americans who lack access to adequate nutrition.  For example, if you donate $100 to the UNICEF cause, the Kellogg Company will also donate $15 to Feeding America.

Since 1976 Feeding America (formerly known as “America’s Second Harvest”) has worked with an extensive network of local and regional food banks to distribute food to those who are hungry.  Feeding America currently provides food to over 25 million Americans, 9 million of whom are children and 3 million of whom are seniors.  This year, the organization will distribute more than 2 billion pounds of food with the help of partners like Kellogg, which has given substantial financial and in-kind support to Feeding America for the past 10 years.

In 2009, Kellogg has committed to donate an entire day’s worth of cereal production, or more than 55 million servings, to Feeding America.  As part of this program, Kellogg is sponsoring Feeding America’s cause and helping Causes coordinate an application-wide matching campaign that allows any donation to help feed America.  So donate to your favorite cause today!
