Do you represent a nonprofit outside of the US or Canada? One of the most common requests we receive here at Causes is for donation processing for beneficiaries outside of the US and Canada. Unfortunately because of some complicated red tape, adding this feature will take time but many international organizations are already using Causes to raise awareness and create communities of supporters around the work they do. Although we cannot process donations, any international nonprofit can fundraise by placing a link to its donation page or website in the positions section of its cause. For example, earlier this year an Australian activist created a cause to raise awareness and funds for victims of the wildfires that killed dozens of people in the state of Victoria. The cause grew to over 800,000 members in under six months and was able to raise money for the Red Cross Australia through a link in the positions section. Another option is to partner with a US or Canadian nonprofit who can process and transfer donations to your organization.

Just like Facebook as a whole, the Causes application is used by people all over the world and people from almost every country can donate. Outside of the US, we are most popular in the UK, Italy, Canada, Indonesia, Australia, and Greece. In fact, one of our biggest animal rights causes is Italian and has close to 500,000 members. So if you want to support a cause outside of the US or Canada, go ahead and create one now – you may be surprised at the response!

Great work! I am involved with several humanitarian projects involving literacy (primary school) and AIDS orphanages in the Sunyani, Teichiman region of Ghana West Africa. A key issue is on-line fundraising. Money is tight and setting up an on-line function costs approx. $4-$5000 CDN. This money would provide education, health and food for 50 orphans for one year.

I have tried 3 times to create a cause, after entering all the information
properly and editing and reviewing it, I lost the form 3 times, the last 2 times were from an improper picture format. What’s wrong with you company, i thought Sean Parker was involved with this company. Obviously he didn’t design the registration process.

Remember who your user on this are, a starving activist trying to launch a cause, frustrated, broke and up late at night using your tools. If you want us to use this, you should be able to save a field.
Also get a phone that is accessible, you have at least 15 employees, they obviously don’t believe in talking to your customers. Craig Newmark, still picks up the phone.

  6. While we know that every decent human being has a built-in desire to make a difference in this world, many hesitate to do so. Why? Well firstly, many have indicated that they are not confident that their donation actually reaches those in need -and secondly, permanent and sustainable benefits in the lives of the disadvantaged seldom occurs.

The Foundation Of World Life Empowerment (F.O.W.L.E.) was established in South Africa by a group of dedicated people, as dynamic and permanent solutions are needed, rather than never-ending feeding schemes and similar activities that, while meant to assist the unfortunate, actually exascerbate the situation through, not only causing the disadvantaged to be permanently dependent on hand-outs, but also by compromising their dignity and hope! Furthermore, endless funding is needed to continue to supply this type of aid.

F.O.W.L.E.’s approach to alleviating poverty is unique and sustainable, in that it provides uplifting and empowering projects whereby disempowered or disadvantaged individuals, communities, and indeed environments, are empowered to help themselves, and to do so in such a way that they are then able to permanently maintain themselves – without any further assistance!
It is in fact, much like saying “Instead of giving a man a fish to eat, give him a fishing rod, show him how to use it, and empower him to catch his own fish… indefinitely!”

So, if you truly wish to make a definite difference in the World, then F.O.W.L.E. is the perfect vehicle through which to do so!
Your donation, no matter how small (and your involvement, if you wish to be involved), will make all the difference in the World, and you could go to your grave confident that you had left a REAL legacy behind for posterity.
Moreover, your assistance will make a PERMANENT difference!

We at F.O.W.L.E. invite you to come on board – join us in this dynamic thrust at eliminating poverty!
