Viral Media on Causes!

One piece of media can spark a movement and now your cause can combine the inspiring power of media with the rapid peer-to-peer sharing of Facebook.  A video can inspire, educate, and motivate people to make a difference. One photo can open your eyes to an injustice that you never knew existed. If hundreds of people read a well-researched article, perhaps they could get on the same page about how to take action.  Causes’ newest feature allows you to post media that can spread rapidly throughout Facebook. Now, media can be an incredible recruiting tool for your cause as well as an important way for your members to support you and get their friends involved.
After your members watch a video, view a photo, or read an article on your cause, we verify that they’ve seen the whole thing and then give them the tools to post it to their profile and invite specific friends to watch.  They also get credit and encouragement for promoting it through their social network because the video tracks the number of viewers, and not just how many times the video has been played.  Importantly, your cause is featured prominently so viewers are prompted to join your cause to stay connected.  This new feature is meant to help you get the word out and spread meaningful pictures, videos, and articles.  So go to your cause, check out your new media board, and start taking advantage of viral media!

    Hello,

I am administering Rangde cause on facebook using causes application. We have widget displaying the borrowers in a 3by 3 grid with the borrowers information, which tells the donars the requirement and current amount donated for a person. This helps people know the people in need and their requirement.

Can you tell me if i could add this widget into the application of causes so that people can easily have an oppurtunity to know the borrowers. Also it woll be great if users could add this badge to their profile using causes on facebook.

I would like to start a movement where people are having a deal or hardship finding jobs due to agency staffing from employers. I would like to know if I can use this application to start a movement for people who have not success in locating employment due to agency staffing. I would like to inform people out there that these agencies are surviving from other peoples hard work and time. People who work thru agenccies for minimal jobs are denied health benefits and other benefits of employment. As i recall agency were opened up for executive searches not for general labour or warehousing positions. If employers want staffing they should adverstise themselves to promote advestising revenues for the print industry. The agencies have killed the job market in general, like my-self I have been un-employed since Dec 08′ due to the fact of agency staffing. I refuse to work for employers who hire employess via employment agencies, have recently boycotted, companies and their products for this reason. Please help

The problem with this update is that it hides all the previously posted links. This is not okay as it auto hides links that are important to the cause, particularly for newer members.

I do like the feature of referring people and showing the interest in each link. Instead of weekly interest, I would like to see monthly interest or (better yet) all-time clicks. That would increase tallies and spark more buzz.

Also, let’s get the option to move around the boxes already. If Facebook can arrange it on the Profile page… The problem is that important items are frequently overlooked. I doubt that seeing the size of the cause rates greater importance than the Discussion threads. If discussion is sparked, then the cause will grow naturally. Right now, the cause peters along with passing interest because many people do not even realize discussions are being posted. Let’s move that box up already!

How People are Helping is random. I want to move that down the page along with the size of the Cause. I want Links after Discussions. (Because it is a natural progression to move from a discussion to the links for more information.) Hall of Fame is NOT more important than Discussions. It needs to be moved below Discussions. How People are Helping can follow. Currently, the layout for the cause page is not using it’s potential at all.

    My preferences?

Announcement (with headers for 3-4 previous announcements)
    Discussions (5 Topics listed)
Media Board (links) (5 links with option to scroll through to next 5 and so on)
Hall of Fame (top 10 with slightly smaller thumbnail)
    Cause size (with smaller graphic)
    How People are Helping

The biggest problems with the page is the order and placement of boxes.

  5. Thanks for such great inspiration here. You’ve given me an idea to start a cause and launch in on my article directory. Now I just have to implement it with all the resources you’ve provide here. Best of luck to all the causes underway so far!
