Giving Challenge Tip of the Day: Always put the donate link in messages about the Challenge

Posted by Susan Gordon on October 19th, 2009

To be competitive in America’s Giving Challenge, you should be getting in touch with your supporters on and off Facebook through bulletins, emails, newsletters and other creative messaging.  Besides making those communications urgent, compelling, and informative, don’t forget to include the link to the donations page of your cause!  This link can be used by people with Facebook profiles and also by people without Facebook profiles; as long as your cause is entered in the Challenge, every donation counts toward the Giving Challenge.  To find the link to the donations page for your cause, go to your cause and click the “Donate” button.  The URL at the top of your browser will look something like this:  https://www.causes.com/fb/donations/new?ts=xxxx&cause_id=xxxx  You can cut-and-copy that link into any communication you send out.  See some examples of bulletins that include a link to the donations page: Sample Bulletin 1, Sample Bulletin 2, Sample Bulletin 3.
