America’s Giving Challenge

agcPresented by Causes, the Case Foundation, and PARADE, America’s Giving Challenge was a 30-day, national competition that encouraged people to leverage their online and offline social networks to help recruit supporters and win cash awards totaling $170,000 for the causes they care most about!  Go to www.causes.com/agc to see who won and get more information and resources for the Challenge.

WHEN WAS AMERICA’S GIVING CHALLENGE?

The 2009 Giving Challenge went from October 7th, 2009 at 3pm EDT and closed on November 6th, 2009 at 3pm EST.

WHAT HAPPENED?

During the 30-day competition, $2,101,914 was donated to the 7,875 participating causes. Over 105,420 unique donations were made and the winner received over 13,000 donations alone.  See more information at www.causes.com/agc

WHAT ARE THE AWARDS?

Participants in America’s Giving Challenge competed for daily and overall awards based on the number of unique donations generated for their causes, not dollars raised. The breakdown of the awards is as follows:

OVERALL AWARDS

•    $50,000 to the cause with the highest number of unique daily donations over the 30 days of the Challenge.
•    $25,000 to the cause with the second highest number of unique daily donations over the 30 days of the Challenge.
•    $10,000 to the next five causes with the highest number of unique daily donations over the 30 days of the Challenge.

DAILY AWARDS

•    $1,000 each day to the cause with the highest number of unique donations that day.
•    $500 each day to the cause with the second highest number of unique donations that day.
