Bulletins are the primary way to communicate with your supporters, and you can now send messages to everyone in any cause created for your nonprofit. Nonprofits we work with send bulletins about exciting news, fundraising appeals, advocacy campaigns, volunteer opportunities, or anything else they want to tell their cause members. Read more about bulletins here.
Want to send a message from your nonprofit, not from your personal Facebook profile? No problem! Send your bulletin from the Partner Center and the “From” field will be your nonprofit.
Want to send an email to your cause members? No problem! Bulletins can be sent out as an email and/or to members’ Facebook News Feeds. These choices allow you to be strategic with your messaging. For instance, if you’re running a campaign you may want to send News Feed bulletins and post announcements on daily basis while only emailing supporters once per week.
Creating, Targeting, and Sending
In your Nonprofit Partner Center at http://nonprofits.causes.com, start by clicking the blue “Send a Bulletin” button within the Bulletins tab. First you will be asked to select recipients. You can target cause administrators, all cause members, or the members of a subset of causes. Then compose your message and be sure to decide how your supporters will receive it (email or Facebook News Feed). Finally, as you preview the message you can include a Call to Action button, such as Invite, Donate, View Cause or Ask Friends to Donate.
Tracking
Bulletins have built-in tracking that tell you how many emails or notifications were delivered as well as the recipients’ click-through rate. This data should help you fine-tune your messaging and hold your affiliate cause administrators accountable. This information is not in the Partner Center but if you go to the “Admin Center” of your cause – you’ll see the deliverability and click-through rate of your bulletins.

Hello!
I have sent a bulletin to all Causes benefitting the Cure JM Foundation, 501 (c)3 charitable organization based in Encinitas, CA, raising funds for the purpose of research for the rare disease, Juvenile Myositis (JM).
I sent the bulletin yesterday to appear in Newsfeeds and be sent as an email. As of this morning, it still appears with the message “Sending”, almost 24 hours later. This has happened with the previous bulletin we sent as well.
One other question — since I am also a member of all of our Causes, should I expect the bulletins to appear in my Newfeed as well? (as a way to check that others are receiving it?) Or are bulletins not sent to admins? (A different personal email address is used for FB).
Thank you!
Annie Mitchell
