The fundraising tab gives you an overview of your nonprofit’s fundraising progress on Causes. You can also create Fundraising Projects, manage relationships with individual donors, collect and download donor contact information, and customize the fundraising box on any cause.
Fundraising Projects are the most effective way for your nonprofit to fundraising using social media. Create a project-based fundraising goal to highlight and raise money for specific projects, programs, or goals and get your entire community, on-and-off of social media, to fund the project. Need to raise $10,000 for a rally in Washington DC? $500,000 for an orphanage in Malawi? $2,000 by January 1st to start the New Year off on the right foot? Learn more about Fundraising Projects, best practices, and watch our instructional videos on the Fundraising Project Resource Page. General Fundraising
If you don’t have a custom fundraising project, your organization’s general fundraising campaign is being featured on all of your affiliate causes. This campaign is a general box on the cause that displays your logo, mission, and a donate button. You can edit this campaign from the Fundraising tab of your Nonprofit Partner Center.
Donation Information
Click on either your General Fundraising Campaign or any individual Fundraising Project, and you’ll see a project detail page which gives you more information about donors, allows you to edit information, and gives you the ability to communicate with donors and promoters. Click on the Donation Information tab for your donations history – name of the donor with a link to their Causes Activist Profile (and ability to thank them), what cause they donated to, amount of donation, and date of donation. You can also download this information into a .csv report so you can sort it or upload it into your donor management software.
Thanking Donors
You can thank your donors in three ways using Causes:
- Customize the auto-Thank You message sent to every new donor. Do this in the “Edit Project” tab under “Thank-You Message.”
- Click “Email Donors” in the Overview tab of any project. You can also target donors by when they donated, emailing every donor in the past two weeks, for example.
- Thank individual donors by clicking their name under the “Donation Information” tab.
Thanking Your Promoters
Another important group of people to build relationships with are the people who promote your fundraising campaigns. Promoters are people who either asked their friends to donate to your fundraising campaign or posted it to their Facebook profile. We recommend emailing these people to thank them for spreading the word and giving them more suggestions for how to promote your fundraising projects. You can email these promoters by clicking “Email Promoters” in the Overview tab of any project.

My dad was diagnosed in 2008 with MSA. It is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by symptoms of autonomic nervous system failure. We are having a benefit for him in 6 weeks to try and raise money for his stem cell treatments. If anyone could help or make a donation please contact me at (815)671-6527. We are hoping to raise the money to prolong his life and give him better quality of his health. There currently is no cure for this disease but with these treatments they are about 90% accurate on improving himself and slowing down the progression of this disease.
